This is the note that didn't get written in Christmas cards or on the last minute Christmas email or explained in yuletide phonecalls - Owing to the fact that pretty much none of the above actually exited this house!
New Years resolution - Number One (to be forgotten by January 2nd 2006): In 2006 the Christmas cards shall be written and posted to everyone by the 10th of December.
2005 has been a nice, if fairly uneventful, year - With probably the major things being Ashley starting school and organising the pre house renovation bits and pieces - most of which revolved around the financing and trying to satisfy bank and council requirements. Grant and I both turned 40 both having a fun party each, with lots of friends joining us to celebrate - I think we should have those parties more often - they're fun! (Despite the next day). Harry enjoyed kindy and creche, spiderman and discovered xbox (oh joy!) - He starts school in April. (how strange!)
We are all go now with building due to start mid January. We will be moving out of our house and into Grants parents place in Henderson for a while - either until the house is habitable or we are kicked out for making too much mess and noise! All of the cards, letters and cheques everyone is so inclined to send can still come to our current address - I'll be back all the time to make sure builders aren't slacking and to occupy the time that Ashley and Harry are at school and kindy - probably sanding down window frames and other good fun things like that (oh and some work etc - the kind that pays me)?? And Grant will be doing LOTS of work that pays us as this thing is expensive! And we will be on a serious budget for the rest of our lives - but we'll have a nice house!
We hope that everyone has a wonderful new year celebration and that the hangovers are mild, the resolutions are achievable and kept to, and that 2006 holds fabulous adventures for all!
Ashley says Merry Christmas. Not sure if she's getting in early or it's belated!
For those overseas, the photos were taken yesterday - For those that are freezing in northern hemisphere winter, we sympathise!
